We’re delighted to highlight the ingredients behind our skincare line and celebrate our commitment to sustainable, skin-loving formulations. Here is a full list of ingredients used in Kind & Loving’s handmade natural soap and skincare range.
Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil
Sweet almond oil is a popular choice of oil in skin care due to its ability to soften, soothe and help the skin retain moisture. It is also high in vitamin E.
Cera alba
Beeswax is a humectant, helping to retain moisture, an emollient to soften and soothe the skin; it is also antiseptic and rich in vitamin A.
Ricinus communis seed oil
Castor oil is easily absorbed into the skin, has excellent moisturising properties and produces a dense lather in soap. When used in our soap making process it is listed as Sodium castorate.
Theobroma cacao seed butter
With a high-fat content, cocoa butter makes an excellent emollient creating a protective barrier on the skin's surface to lock in moisture. Rich in antioxidants and vitamin E.
Cocos nucifera oil
Helps soften, cleanse and soothe skin and is easily absorbed into the skin. Coconut oil is used in our soaps to make lots of fluffy bubbles and is listed as Sodium cocoate.
Vitis vinifera seed oil
Grapeseed oil is a great source of omega-6 fatty acids and Vitamin E, it is light weight, non greasy and easily absorbed.
Olea europaea fruit oil
High in essential fatty acids, easily absorbed into the skin making the soap moisturising and mild. It is also full of anti-oxidants. When used in our soap making process it is listed as Sodium olivate.
Elaeis guineensis oil
Palm oil produces a mild firm bar of soap with a creamy long lasting lather. We only use sustainable palm oil purchased from a certified RSPO members. When used in our soap making process it is listed as Sodium palmate.

Butyrospermum parkii butter
Added for its moisturising and soothing properties, it also helps the skin retain moisture. Good for all skin types especially dry and damaged skin due to its healing and regenerative properties. When used in our soap making process it is listed as Sodium shea butterate.
Helianthus annuus seed oil
Sunflower oil is highly absorbent and non-comedogenic. This means it will not clog your pores, and it is well suited for most skin types.
Hydrogenated soy bean oil
Soy wax is rich in Vitamin E that can help moisturise and soften the skin. It’s natural, non-toxic, and biodegradable with a clean burn and low burning temperature making it ideal for massage candles.
Amyris balsamifera bark oil
Amyris, also known as West Indian Sandalwood, exudes a woody, warm, and subtly sweet fragrance. Amyris’ aroma is reminiscent of earthy woods with a hint of sweetness, often used to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and create a sense of tranquillity.
Citrus aurantium bergamia

Piper nigrum fruit oil

Eugenia caryophyllus bud oil

Coffea arabica seed oil

Boswellia carterii oil

Citrus aurantium amara flower oil

Cymbopogon martini oil

Alkanna tinctoria root extract
A natural dye infused in oil, Alkanet root is used to create an array of colours including of grey, lavender, burgundy.
Bixa orellana seed
Annatto seeds are commonly used as a natural colouring agent to create tones of yellow and orange in various industries, including food, cosmetics, and textiles.
Kaolin, illite, montmorillonite and Moroccan lava clay
Cosmetic clays come in a variety of colours and are celebrated for their multifaceted benefits including its ability to absorb excess oil while balancing skin tone, offering a holistic solution for nourishing the skin.
Charcoal powder
Charcoal powder is a natural black to pale grey colourant in soaps, bath bombs and masks. It is also used in skincare products to remove blemishes, excess oil, toxins, and impurities from the skin.
Caprae lac
Goat's milk, rich in moisturising fatty acids and gentle exfoliating lactic acid, soothes, hydrates, and nourishes the skin, offering anti-inflammatory benefits and antioxidant protection for a radiant and youthful complexion.

Rubia tinctorum root extract
Madder root, prized for its natural colour and one of the most popular for soap making as it offers a beautiful shade and will give a very nice light pink colour to a deep, rich red hue.
Beer
Thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of hops, beer soap may help soothe inflamed, itchy skin. Adding beer to the soapmaking process instead of water makes for a rich lather that enhances your bathing experience.
Capsicum annuum fruit extract
Paprika is used for its natural colour and commonly used as a natural red pigment to tint products and cosmetics, creates an orange-yellow to rich peach rich colour in soap.
Mentha piperita leaf
All the benefits of peppermint essential oil with the addition of a mind exfoliant. Refreshing, cooling, and invigorating.
Pumice
Is an effective exfoliant in soap, removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores for smoother, clearer skin. Its abrasive texture stimulates circulation, enhances product absorption, and is a natural, biodegradable ingredient.

Curcuma Longa
Turmeric serves as a natural colorant due to its vibrant yellow-orange hue, used in our soaps for its natural colour ranging from a pale pink-yellow to deep burnt orange.
Prunus armeniaca fruit powder
Apricot fruit powder, rich in vitamins and antioxidants, revitalizes and moisturizes the skin, leaving it radiant and smooth. Ideal for homemade face masks. Used in our mix at home face masks.
Musa acuminata fruit powder
Banana fruit powder, rich in vitamins and antioxidants, nourishes and revitalizes the skin, promoting a healthy, youthful glow while providing gentle exfoliation and hydration. Used in our mix at home face masks.
Brassica alcohol
Brassica Alcohol is a Palm Free and Vegan-friendly natural thickening agent and emulsifier, reduces hair breakage due to tangling and combing by conditioning and softening the hair. Used in our shampoo and conditioner bars.
Behentrimonium methosulfate Despite its name, Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a sulfate free emulsifier, BTMS is derived from rape seed oil it makes an excellent hair conditioner and is palm free, used in our solid conditioner bars.
Buttermilk powder
rich in lactic acid which naturally cleans and brightens the skin. Also a high concentration of vitamins and minerals, used in our mix at home face masks.
Cetyl alcohol
Cetyl alcohol is an emulsifier derived from coconut, with its ability to retain moisture, improve texture, and combat frizz and tangles. Used in our shampoo and conditioner bars.
Citric acid
Citric acid is essential in bath bombs for producing the effervescent reaction with sodium bicarbonate, maintaining pH balance, providing skin benefits, softening bath water and helping to stabilize and bind the product, used in our bath truffles.
Theobroma cacao seed powder
The theobromine found in cocoa powder enhances blood flow to the skin's surface, revealing fresher and brighter skin. It is also an excellent natural colourant.
Cocomidopropyl betaine
Often referred to as coco-betaine, it is a mild amphoteric surfactant made from coconuts and offers excellent foaming abilities, used in our shampoo bars.
Cocos nucifera fruit powder, apioca starch
Coconut milk powder is rich in moisturizing fatty acids and nutrients, deeply hydrates and softens the skin, leaving it smooth, supple, and nourished. Used in our mix at home face masks.
Aqua
Used in our soap making process, bottled at source in Cumbria it used to allow the saponification process between the alkali and the oils.
Whole goat milk
Goat milk powder, packed with nourishing vitamins and minerals, hydrates, soothes, and rejuvenates the skin, promoting a healthy, radiant complexion. Used in our mix at home face masks.
Mel
Raw honey from our bees here in Shap, Cumbria is added to our soaps and powdered honey to our mix at home face mask to help moisturise and hydrate the skin.
Avena sativa kernel meal
We use Cumbrian grown oats in our soaps and Scottish oats in our mix at home face masks; oats gently exfoliate, improves your skin complexion, and reduces skin inflammation.
Panthenol
Is a humectant providing long lasting moisturisation. Leaves hair shiny and soft and reduces static, prevent things like frizzing, splitting, and fraying. Used in our shampoo and conditioner bars
Polyquaternium 7
An excellent conditioner for hair, detangles and allows easier wet-combing adding softness and shine to dry hair, used in our shampoo bars.
Sodium cocoyl isethionate
A mild surfactant with high foaming capacity and conditioning effects that leave the hair and skin feeling hydrated, soft, and silky smooth. Used in our Shampoo bars.
Sodium bicarbonate
Is essential in bath bombs for creating the fizzing effect when plunged into hot water, helping to diffuse colours and essential oils. It also softens the water, providing skin benefits, and helping to stabilize and bind the ingredients.
Sodium hydroxide
A strong alkali used to create a simple chemical process called saponification. Once complete there is no sodium hydroxide left and the result is beautiful natural soap.
Rubus Idaeus fruit powder
Raspberry powder, rich in antioxidants and vitamins, can rejuvenate the skin, promote collagen production, and provide gentle exfoliation, leaving the skin radiant and refreshed.
Tocopherol &

Renowned for its antioxidant properties, Vitamin E helps protect the skin from environmental damage and supports skin repair.
